Your adventure begins with an early departure from Marrakech, crossing the stunning High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass. We stop to visit the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a masterpiece of Moroccan architecture and a favorite filming location for Hollywood movies. Continuing through Ouarzazate and the scenic Draa Valley, lined with endless palm groves and ancient kasbahs, we arrive in Zagora by late afternoon. Here, you’ll enjoy a short camel ride to watch the sunset over the small dunes before settling into your hotel or riad for dinner and the night.

After breakfast, we leave Zagora and travel through the arid landscapes of Tazarine and Alnif, small desert towns surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Arriving in Merzouga in the afternoon, your camel caravan will be waiting to take you deep into the Erg Chebbi dunes. Witness a spectacular Sahara sunset before reaching your luxury desert camp, where you’ll enjoy traditional Moroccan cuisine, Berber music around the campfire, and a night under a sky filled with stars.

This day is dedicated to exploring the wonders of the Merzouga region. We start with a 4x4 tour to Khamlia village to enjoy the rhythms of Gnawa music, then visit nomadic families living in the desert to learn about their traditions. After exploring fossil-rich areas and seasonal desert lakes (if present), we head to the historic town of Rissani to visit its lively market and ancient kasbahs. You’ll return to your Merzouga hotel in the afternoon for dinner and relaxation.

Wake up early for a mesmerizing sunrise over the dunes before breakfast. We then drive to Erfoud, famous for its fossil workshops, and continue through palm oases and Berber villages to reach the dramatic Todra Gorge, where you can take a walk between its towering cliffs. In the afternoon, we follow the scenic road to Dades Valley, known for its unique rock formations and green fields, where we spend the night in a charming guesthouse.

After breakfast, we explore the Dades Valley further before heading towards the Skoura Oasis, home to countless palm trees and ancient kasbahs such as Amridil. We then make our way to Ouarzazate, where you can visit local film studios or the impressive Taourirt Kasbah. Dinner and overnight stay in Ouarzazate.

On the final day, we enjoy a relaxed breakfast before crossing the High Atlas Mountains back to Marrakech. Along the way, we stop at panoramic viewpoints and traditional Berber villages for photo opportunities and a final taste of Morocco’s rural charm. We arrive in Marrakech by late afternoon, marking the end of your unforgettable 6-day journey through Zagora and Merzouga.
