4 days tour from Marrakech to Merzouga

Your journey begins early in the morning from Marrakech, heading into the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass. We’ll pause at scenic viewpoints to admire traditional Berber villages and dramatic mountain landscapes before arriving at the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a stunning example of earthen architecture and a famous filming location. After exploring its winding alleys, we continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa,” and visit the Taourirt Kasbah. Our route then leads through Skoura Oasis, home to palm groves and ancient kasbahs, before reaching the picturesque Dades Valley, where you’ll enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in a charming local guesthouse.

After breakfast, we explore the dramatic Dades Gorges and continue through the stunning landscapes of Tinghir before arriving at Todra Gorge, a magnificent canyon carved by the Todra River. Here, you can take a short walk between the towering cliffs or simply admire the views. We then head south through the desert towns of Tinjdad and Erfoud, known for their fossil workshops, before reaching Merzouga in the late afternoon. Your camel caravan awaits to take you deep into the Erg Chebbi dunes, where you’ll watch the sunset over the sand before arriving at a luxury desert camp. Enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, live Berber music by the campfire, and a night under the glittering desert sky.

Wake up early to witness a magical sunrise from the top of the dunes, followed by a camel ride back to Merzouga. After breakfast, we visit the traditional market in Rissani, a town steeped in history and the birthplace of Morocco’s ruling dynasty. Traveling west, we pass through the palm-filled Draa Valley, dotted with ksars and kasbahs, and enjoy lunch in the village of Nkob. The afternoon drive continues through Agdz and across volcanic mountain landscapes before reaching Ouarzazate, where you’ll spend the night in a comfortable riad or hotel.

On the final day, we enjoy a relaxed breakfast before beginning our return journey to Marrakech. The scenic drive takes us back over the High Atlas Mountains, with several photo stops and breaks in small Berber villages. We arrive in Marrakech by late afternoon, marking the end of your unforgettable 4-day adventure from Marrakech to the Sahara Desert.
