Itinerary
We depart Fes in the morning, traveling through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop is Ifrane, often called the “Little Switzerland” of Morocco, followed by the cedar forests of Azrou, where you can spot Barbary macaques. Continue through Midelt and the beautiful Ziz Valley before arriving in Merzouga in the late afternoon. Here, you’ll ride camels across the Erg Chebbi dunes to watch a stunning desert sunset. Dinner, Berber music, and overnight in a luxury desert camp under the stars.
Wake early to witness the sunrise over the dunes before returning by camel or 4x4 to Merzouga village for breakfast. We then visit the historic market town of Rissani, continue through arid desert landscapes to the breathtaking Todra Gorge, and take a walk between its towering cliffs. In the afternoon, we travel through the Valley of Roses before arriving in Dades Valley for dinner and an overnight stay in a traditional riad or guesthouse.
After breakfast, we explore more of the Dades Gorges before driving to Ouarzazate, known for its film studios and historic kasbahs. Visit the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a masterpiece of Moroccan architecture and a famous filming location. We then cross the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka pass, arriving in Marrakech by early evening, where your driver will drop you off at your accommodation.
