Itinerary
Welcome to Morocco! Meet your driver at Mohammed V Airport and transfer to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, visit the Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest and most beautiful in the world, and enjoy a walk along the scenic Corniche. Overnight in Casablanca.
Depart for Rabat, Morocco’s capital, to visit the Royal Palace, Hassan Tower, and Oudaias Kasbah overlooking the Bou Regreg River. Continue through the Rif Mountains to the blue-painted town of Chefchaouen. Free time to wander its photogenic alleys and relax in your riad.
Travel to the ancient Roman city of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous for its mosaics and historic ruins. Continue to Meknes, known for Bab Mansour Gate and its historic medina. Arrive in Fes for overnight.
Spend the day exploring Fes el-Bali, the world’s largest car-free urban area. Visit Al Quaraouiyine University, the Bou Inania Madrasa, the colorful tanneries, artisan workshops, and bustling souks. Overnight in Fes.
Drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane and the cedar forests of Azrou to see Barbary macaques. Pass through Midelt and the lush Ziz Valley before arriving in Merzouga. Camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes for sunset, followed by dinner and music under the stars in a luxury desert camp.
After breakfast, explore the Sahara by 4x4—visit nomadic families, the fossil-rich Khamlia village known for Gnawa music, and seasonal desert lakes. Enjoy a second night in the desert camp or a nearby kasbah.
See the traditional market in Rissani before driving to the towering cliffs of the Todra Gorges for a scenic walk. Continue to the Dades Gorges, famous for its “Monkey Fingers” rock formations. Dinner and overnight in a charming guesthouse.
Travel through the Dades Valley and Skoura palm oasis, then visit Ouarzazate and the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO-listed fortress used as a backdrop in many films. Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass to reach Marrakech. Overnight in Marrakech.
Discover Marrakech’s highlights: Jemaa el-Fnaa, Bahia Palace, Koutoubia Mosque, Saadian Tombs, and the Majorelle Garden. Explore the souks filled with spices, crafts, and textiles. Overnight in Marrakech.
Head west to the Atlantic coast and the laid-back town of Essaouira. Explore its whitewashed medina, historic ramparts, and fishing harbor. Enjoy fresh seafood and browse local artisan shops. Overnight in Essaouira.
Travel up the coast through El Jadida, a Portuguese-influenced port city, to Casablanca. Free evening for last-minute shopping or relaxing. Overnight in Casablanca.
Transfer to Casablanca Airport for your return flight.
